As a nun once said to me, recalling her own entrance into the convent and Profession days,
"Jesus can't refuse the prayers of a soul when she gives herself completely to Him."
This may not be my last post here, but today I want to say thank you, dear readers,
for taking the time to stop by to read my poor words.
On Saturday, I am entering the convent to begin my postulancy.
My vocation is to pray for all souls: my family, priests, seminarians, and all my friends
--that includes you, whoever, wherever you are.
On Saturday morning, I will receive Holy Communion for all of your intentions,
and in the afternoon I will carry you all in my heart
as I cross the threshold of the door that can only be opened by love.
If you have any specific intentions you would like me to bring to prayer,
please leave them in the comment box,
or just leave your name/nickname and I will remember your intentions....

Mary, an amazing journey you have ahead of you. Will you be able to blog later – at some time. Or will you never be able to blog again? Your writing has touched me. And this upcoming year – here's a prayer request. The sleep disorder that I have keeps me from being able to hold a regular job – I couldn't even be a pastor at a church with my education and all – my body is just too unreliable. But writing I can do – because I can go until I need to stop – and then stop. Until I can go again. I will soon be selling some of my writing on my blog, and I would heart some speaking engagements, and – well – I just have to find a way to make enough money to live – and writing about our Lord – and speaking about him – that would be awesome. I've built a couple of fair sized blogs – they need to grow more – I need to keep working hard – I need to keep writing with more and more and more heart – one way or another I have to find a way – I hope this is the way. So would you please pray for me. I haven't really shared this with anybody else in the land of blog – just you. And will you be able to read blogs. While you're gone? Anyway – you have been a blessing – God bless you!

ReplyDeleteYou have so much Heart—thank you for your hospitality over in the Deeps and for taking the time to visit me here. Your words of encouragement and wisdom have been priceless. This summer (now fall!) has been an amazing journey in itself... and now I’m looking forward to what the Lord has in store for me in the convent.
I don’t know if I will be able read or write a blog again. It may be years from now, or it may be never, depending on the needs of the community. Some communities of nuns have blogs, mine does not at this time, and I accept that, because I can see how easy it would be to lose one’s sense of cloister on the internet. Certainly I will not be on the internet much if at all during the years of my formation. But I will use my time God’s time for prayer, and I will remember you, I promise—your writing has made a difference in my life, and I hope your plans work out—you have so much to offer the world!
I heart that God has brought us together, if only for a few months. If ever I get the chance to do so, I will try to look you up again someday. In the meantime, take care, and know that you always have a share in my prayers!
