The phone rang yesterday evening.
It was so good to hear her voice again, at last!
Someone thoughtfully set a chair behind me
as I exclaimed, "Thanks be to God!"
And now, everything is different
even though nothing has changed.
I am setting out into deep water this September,
but not leaving my childhood home until October.
Already, but not yet...
I am no longer an aspirant, Lord, what am I?
Engaged!
Thanks be to God!
